What is this all about?
This is just part of a small super top secret project I'm working on. Once I had a working map, I realized I couldn't wait to get it out, and decided that it was useful on its own.
Think of this like a 6th sense. You can pull this up and see what's happening right now around you.
You should follow me on twitter.
How do I use this?
There isn't much more to it beyond opening your browser to http://tweetme.me. This should work in most mobile browsers, as well as on the desktop1.
How does it work?
All through various incantations of client side scripting. The site is currently just static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files generated from Haml, Sass and a thing I've built to preprocess JavaScript all processed by nanoc3 and rendered by most modern browsers.
Currently, this uses Google Maps v3, the Twitter API, Geo.js2, and my GeoIP API3, if the browser doesn't support the new geolocation API. I'm also using LazyLoad and jQuery.

If you're using more recent WebKit nightlies, this ironically won't work. They're in the middle getting the new geolocation api into the desktop version but it currently automatically refuses to share the user's location, and there is no way to allow it yet. Use Safari if you have to. ↩
